Author's Note: Hi, just somethin' short 'n sweet. Just a slight distraction to take our minds off of our silky legs and bangle bracelets. Just a story about a house, 'a girl,' and the loss of her innocence... plus other things that we don't need to concern ourselves with at the moment... Okay have fun and I hope YOU like it.

"Hmmm... Let, me, see."

I ordered a couple of things, nothing crazy, just something I had to have. Just a couple of boxes, a couple of bags, just pieces that I knew I couldn't jiggle without. I was taking stock, seeing what was there, seeing what I would traipse around in over the weekend. My hands slightly shook as I ran my fingers through some colorful polyester or the leather of the black heels, or the fancy logo on the eyeshadow palette. More colors to match my dresses. More colors to make me look like I crashed a wedding, chaperoned a sweet sixteen, maybe even hosted a bachelorette party. You never know.

"Will?"

I panicked, I pushed the open packages into the closet, just far enough to be hidden in the dark. I turned around a little too quickly, smiling uncomfortably.

"Oh, what's up?"

I listened, but I was thankful the wife didn't notice my new skater dress, my new six-inch sandals, my gorgeous deluxe thirty-two color eye makeup set.

JUST A MINUTE BEFORE

I heard my wife on the phone. "Aww, that sucks I was looking forward to all those martinis. Even Will, he was excited to have the whole house to himself for a couple of days."

MaryAnne was talking to Rachel her friend from work. I have never met her, or any of the employees from the firm.

"Yeah okay, let me tell him."

I just finished Windex-ing the windows and the counters in the kitchen. I wanted the house clean and tidy for tonight and tomorrow. I drifted back into the little office I used when I worked from home. I had a little closet, with a big mirror on the door. It was dark and deep and I knew the wife would never, ever investigate inside of it.
